Waiting to Splash the Cash

Waiting to Splash the Cash

It's crazy season folks. Football has come to a screeching halt where the only fulfillment is watching the Confederations Cup with a sub-par Germany allowing Cristiano Ronaldo or Alexis Sanchez to lift the esteemed trophy **rolls eyes** News Now (input favorite team) is the website of choice to determine which £100 million pound signing your club will make in the coming days. The website has the ability to make you almost wet your pants at the thought of your club signing Messi and Ronaldo to lead your charge. The reality sets in when your team actually splashes £36 million on Andy Carrol (see Liverpool Football Club) leaving you to walk to the toilet claiming you spilled your pint.

Inevitably a club is going to smash the world transfer record and remarkably, Arsenal is being mentioned in the same breath as Real Madrid in trying to sign young French phenom Kylian Mbappe. Is it actually going to happen - fuck no; but one can dream right. Liverpool have already broke their transfer record with the signing of Mohamed Salah for £39 million. Manchester United have made an underwhelming signing in Victor Lindelof  - by name anyways.

What they say is that one major transfer sets the wheels in motion as the transfer of funds then begins. I think that transfer will be Mbappe  but let's wait and see.

Unfortunately I have no real football to report on besides Oscar getting an eight match ban in the Chinese League for kicking the ball at an opponent thereby starting a mass brawl - thatta boy!

Anyways - thats your lot for this week but I will keep you posted on transfers throughout the summer - surely the closer to kick off we get, the more interesting things will become!
