I am an avid football fanatic and enjoy all aspects of the game from the history, on-pitch competition, tactical analysis, nutrition and training, mental strength and development to the terrace fashion culture.

I was blessed to be raised in a family that promoted the sport as a means of personal development and each day I see values I have learned throughout my football career being transferable into other aspects of my life.

I view intellectual development as being a precursor to being a diligent student of football as I feel athletic ability and skill alone does not make a complete footballer.  The inept understandings of positioning, tactics and football philosophies are the backbone of being a strong player and the ability to attain these competencies are enhanced through strong intellectual prowess.  The aforementioned gives way to the part of Footyscout's philosophy outlining what the composition of the complete footballer should be made up of:

  • Physcial: A player must work to develop physical strength through nutrition and fitness
  • Tactical: A player must enhance understanding of general football tactics such as positioning, movement and strategy
  • Psychological: A player must develop mental strength to maintain composure during a multitude of possible scenarios which may occur before, during or after a match
  • Knowledge Based (the X Factor): To be an elite footballer a player must become a student of the game through learning about the history, evolution and current stature of the sport's impact on the world.  I refer to this as the x-factor as it may elevate the player from great to elite when possessing a core competency of high football knowledge
